1992
This year I was part of a team of young artists in Reykjavik that organized a youth Art Festival in Reykjavik. We named it “Loftárás á Seyðisfjörð” that basically translates – airstrike at Seydisfjord – we wanted to make an impact. As long as being an organizer and part of the festival team I had two private shows in connection with the festival: One at a construction site called “Bergstaðir” at Bergstaðastræti in Reykjavik and another at a famous artist hotspot the Bar 22. Most of the works and documentation are now lost, but here are some of the works from the two shows. The show with the oils was erotic in nature. The other one consisted of aquarelles and addressed – a by now a familiar theme of faces – that I later realized were about mirroring my own feelings and self and later became my art philosophy – SNART; something I fruited years later at the Iceland Art University.
