Artwork by Thor Stiefel art-archive

1988

This is the year I graduated from Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð College. The work depicted here is one of my earliest attempt with abstract painting in oil. I made it in Fine Art class supervised by teacher/artist Ingiberg Magnússon and displayed at the college site in a show following an open call for applications among my fellow students . My first attempt as a curator.

Resilience. Aquarelle on paper, 21x30cm. The oldest artwork I made that has survived, probably from when I was nine years old, i.e. from 1976-1977
